CheSa’s Bistro & Bar will offer a fusion of Creole and contemporary American flavors in a full fine dining ambiance. The 1800-square-foot bar & bistro will feature a scratch-made entirely gluten-free menu. Prepare your palette for starters such as charbroiled oysters; main course dishes such as chicken pasta made with roux creamy mix tortellini; finally, the dessert menu will feature items like deep-fried cinnamon rolls. In 2018, owner Brendan Byrne started the journey of creating a new space in a 130 year old Chicago building in the northwest side neighborhood of Avondale. With plans for updates to a space that had been home to countless taverns, inns, saloons and diner-style bar and kitchens for its long history, work got underway for an opening in early 2020. With the onset of COVID and the threat of The Wolfhound falling victim to the pandemic like so many businesses before officially opening our doors- we took the opportunity to delve deeper into our rehab, and to focus on providing a safe and comfortable space in the neighborhood that had become our home. With the support of family, and with a name that pays homage to a childhood raising Irish Wolfhounds, in November of 2021 The Wolfhound was able to emerge from the pandemic with a space that is uniquely us, with a style and energy born of hardship and necessity testing the limits of creativity, but one that is uncompromising in quality.
